The National Center for Special Education Accountability Monitoring (NCSEAM) has created a series of online modules to help schools implement research based parent involvement practices.
The modules were designed to help schools improve their performance on the Parent Involvement Indicator (B-8) of the state performance plan, but they are applicable for anyone working to increase effective parent involvement in schools, such as:
- Parent mentors;
- Parent and family engagement coordinators;
- Directors and coordinators for Special Education, Early Childhood. Title I and School Improvement;
- Principals;
- Superintendents;
- District officials;
- Teachers.
The modules are a series of seven workshops that users can tailor to suit their school's needs:
- Communication
- Individualized Education Plan
- Home School Note
- Behavior Strategies
- Reading Strategies
- Math Strategies
- Homework Strategies
In addition to the materials for the workshop, NCSEAM provides an online message board for sharing ideas, best practices and questions about the material.
